Language skills. My best language skill would be English, followed my Bahasa Malaysia. Even though I am a Chinese, I can only speak a limited amount of Chinese. This was because the Chinese language was never really practiced or communicated as much as English and Bahasa Malaysia. Since primary school up to secondary, I have studying in the national school system. Thus, the usage of Chinese was at minimum. Besides that, in my family, English is used as the primary medium of communication. Though I am labeled a 'banana' in the Chinese community, which means a Chinese person not knowing how to speak Chinese, I have no regrets growing up in the national school system. This is because, it encouraged me to mix well with the other races wherever I am. Isn't that why we're Malaysians? We're called to lived in harmony no matter the race, religion and language. I'm a proud Malaysian. Always am. Always will be.
