Skil-skil tambahan

Talents that I have. Besides my hobbies and language skills, I too have other talents. I can play music. The piano I particular. From a young age, my parents encouraged me to take piano classes. I managed to master my piano skills till Grade 7 in the ABRSM music system.  Besides that, I would like to say that I'm a confident speaker myself. Though I wasn't trained professionally or took part in any speaking competitions, the responsibilities I held during my high school years and being active in my home church have trained me well. I was pushed out of my comfort. I once became the masters of ceremony for a dinner anniversary event that had 500 guests attending.

Hobi

Hobbies. Things I love doing and won't get tired of doing because I enjoy them. I used to like reading. I used to enjoy reading science fictional books because my imagination could run where I want it to go. I could once finish reading a 300 page book within a day. But due to my studies, I had to reduce the time I spend with books not academic related. I too enjoy traveling because I get to see and experience new things. I get to be excused for being a little silly in a whole new country. I get to see how people live in other parts of the world and this really has broadened my perspective. I also enjoy outdoor activities, or rather, activities related to nature. So far, the countries I've traveled to are China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Nepal.

Sukan

Sports. Sports isn't one of my strong points. However I did join a sport called floorball during my high school years. It's like hockey, but with a plastic such and a plastic ball, and it's an indoor court game. I had to stop playing the sport due to my STPM to focus on my studies. Since then, I've never continue the sport. I do also like swimming, not as a professional sport, but a hobby sport. When I was a child, my parents used to take me and my sisters to the public swimming pool and teach us how to swim. Now that we've shifted into a condo with a pool, a swim often as a hobby. Besides that, as I've said before,I have quite an adventurous family, thus,I do also enjoy hiking. The thing I enjoy most about hiking is being able to enjoy nature and be amazed by it over and over again.

Skil bahasa

Language skills. My best language skill would be English, followed my Bahasa Malaysia. Even though I am a Chinese, I can only speak a limited amount of Chinese. This was because the Chinese language was never really practiced or communicated as much as English and Bahasa Malaysia. Since primary school up to secondary, I have studying in the national school system. Thus, the usage of Chinese was at minimum. Besides that, in my family, English is used as the primary medium of communication. Though I am labeled a 'banana' in the Chinese community, which means a Chinese person not knowing how to speak Chinese, I have no regrets growing up in the national school system. This is because, it encouraged me to mix well with the other races wherever I am. Isn't that why we're Malaysians? We're called to lived in harmony no matter the race, religion and language. I'm a proud Malaysian. Always am. Always will be.

Pencapaian Kokurikulum

During my high school years, I was really active in curricular activities. In my senior year, I was a school prefect, I was president of one society and also for a club. I was also the marching commander for my school sports house, Brooks and I too hold other important positions in other clubs. These experiences in high school has shaped me to be a leader that leads and not one that dominates. I have learned much from various leadership roles to stay humble as a leader, and to allow others to speak before I speak. My high school, Methodist Girls' School was a place that promotes a holistic education. For that I am truly grateful for the values the school has imparted in me. I once went to Singapore for a Youth Regional Conference. That trip was my first overseas trip without my family. It gave me a chance to be independent of my finance and the way I lived. To hear youths from Asia voice up and speak up during the conference really broaden my perspective on the world we live in.
